We believe the Bible is a collection of stories that were meant to entertain as well as enlighten and inspire. And, the Bible takes the command to "rejoice always" seriously (pun sort of intended), because its contents are, primarily, comedy! The "Bible Cabaret" is an evening of playful exploration of the biblical text in the form of a variety show, with Jane's monologues and characters telling the biblical narrative from "the comedic lens" and other music, comedy and variety acts sharing their discoveries,

questions, excitement, and skepticism of the text and its traditional interpretations. And with a huge dose of fun. There's nothing quite like it! Bible Cabarets have been produced in such locales as LA's Fake Gallery and Fanatic Salon as well as the Bryant-Lake Bowl Theater in Minneapolis ("Come for the bowling, stay for the Bible, and enjoy beer throughout!") and Chicago's fabulous "Second City" stage (a benefit for "Growing Home"). Cabarets in San Francisco, Boston, New York City, Indianapolis and Nashville are now being considered, featuring Jane and local nifty spiritual artists of the region. Next Cabaret....at the Volga UMC in Volga IA. Where I preached (also at the Arlington IA UMC) for several months, until July of this year. So looking forward to returning to these congregations to share the show. All of course are invited and donations will support the NE Iowa Food Bank.
